Throwin' Rocks

Sunday, I took Little One to the river bank to do the thing that kids throughout the world love to do...throw rocks in the river. This just happens to be the New River just a little downstream from Narrows, Virginia. She already has asked to go back. It was a good day.

A Visit to Virginia Tech...

32 flags as a memorial at a church on Main Street, Blacksburg.
The memorial at the Drill field is a lot quieter than before. But the worn paths indicate a lot of activity.

The Virginia state flag (right) still at half mast.

The front of Norris Hall. The building is now fenced off.

All quiet on the Drill field.

The memorial close up.

...Sacrifice...

Some remember 33, which includes the shooter.

Little hands that love VT.

Busy Saturday

Today was a fairly busy day at our house. Little One has taken a visit to relatives in good ole West Virginia, so The Wife and I were able to do some things today by ourselves. First was a trip to the furniture tent sale beside Books-A-Millions. Our 25 year old living room suit had seen better days, so we took the jump for another. I hope this one last 25 years.

Next was lunch. We tried the Red Robin. The food was good. The hamburgers were big and juicy. Plus, we had unlimited fries. However, it was a bit pricey. Two hamburger, fries, and water to drink and it cost $ 20 (not including tip). We determined that for $ 20 we could eat at one of the steakhouses. We probably will not go back just because of the price. Those were expensive hamburgers.

Lastly, we took in a movie at the new movie theater beside the New River Valley mall. We did our part to make Spiderman 3 the number one movie of the week. I thought it was good. A little slow in places, but good fight scenes. Overall, I'd give it a 8/10. The stadium seating was excellent and the seats had the ability to rock. After we sit down, I realized I had not seen Spiderman 2. I'll rent it.

Bad news on the NASCAR race at Richmond...a rain out. And I will miss it tomorrow because of a previous engagement...professional rasslin' at the Roanoke Civic Center. GO Cena!!
